Open the door, get on the floor. Everybody walk the dinosaur!
If you were a SNES owner back in the day, then the brilliant Yoshi’s Island (AKA Super Mario World 2) is probably one of your favourite platform games. Sporting a beautiful crayon aesthetic and subtle use of the Super FX 2 chip, it was a brilliant example of a platformer. Plus it gave Yoshi, the cute little speech-impaired dinosaur a starring role, and who doesn’t love tiny dinosaurs with extendable tongues and wiggly feet?
According to All Games Beta, two Canadian retailers are displaying listings for a Wii U game by the name of Yoshi’s Land:
“Take Yoshi on an epic adventure to remember in Yoshi Land for Nintendo Wii U. Check out Yoshi as you’ve never seen him before: in glorious high definition. Enjoy dual-screen control thanks to the Wii U Touchscreen GamePad, while you’ll also be able to experience full integration with Nintendo’s MiiVerse service.”
“Join everyone’s favourite dinosaur in his first big starring role on Nintendo Wii U – Yoshi’s Land. Utilise the power of the Wii U Touchscreen GamePad to enjoy dual-screen fun in this epic adventure with stunning HD graphics and connectivity with the MiiVerse.”
If this is all true, than it’s good news for Wii U owners everywhere – Provided the game is more Yoshi’s Island than the N64’s Yoshi’s Story.
