Details Emerge of Gears of War: Judgment’s Free-For-All Mode and New Maps

by on August 28, 2012

Gears of War: Judgment Microsoft and Epic Games have today revealed details of the Free-For-All multiplayer mode that will feature in their upcoming third person shooter prequel, Gears of War: Judgment.

Developed by Bulletstorm creators People Can Fly and slated for a release of March 2013, Gears of War: Judgment looks set to bring the pain to the Locust hoards once again. Of course no game is complete without some sort of multiplayer option these days, and the details of Judgements’ multiplayer offering are starting to emerge.

You won’t need to be the most prolific of gamers to work out what the newly announced Free-For-All mode is all about. Tossing the rulebook out of the window, two teams are pitted against each other in a classic multiplayer Deathmatch. There is a twist, however, as in a first for the Gears of War series the Free-For-All mode pits COG soldiers against other COG soldiers. What happened in the games story to allow this to happen? We’ll have to wait and see.

Details of two new maps have also been revealed, each of which is rigged and ready to be played with the Free-For-All mode;

GONDOLA – The Coastal Villa Apartments are part of the exclusive Halvo community located in the prestigious Agora foothills.  Residents enjoy a host of interior upgrades, and each unit features an ocean view from a private patio or balcony.  This quiet, gated community is located only a short gondola ride from the renowned shops and businesses of our active and thriving coastal community.

LIBRARY – The Alexiy Desipich Memorial Library is not a library in the traditional sense, but rather an archive of important documents surrounding his life, career, and personal interests.  An avid historian, politician, and philosopher, Desipich is most remembered as the father and creator of the Austere Canon, the basis for the Coalition of Ordered Governments, which was shaped around eight guiding principles: Order, Diligence, Purity, Labor, Honour, Loyalty, Faith, and Humility.

Sounding good, then, although one would hope details of some objective game modes leak out soon, too. We love to play Guardian here at GodisaGeek, so lets hope that one makes it into the mix!

Gears of War: Judgment will be released on March 19, exclusively for Xbox 360.
