Earn Your Typing RSA Whilst Catching Imaginary Monsters
Typing based games have not exactly set the gaming world on fire. have they? The Typing of The Dead was an absolutely brilliant spin-off of the HOTD series which gave me hours of fun on the Dreamcast, making my typing digits suffer like G did in the process, but the keyboard peripheral never really caught on.
Educational games are mostly crap, as well. Why would kids want to learn stuff when they could be playing actual proper games like Pokemon?
Hang on a minute though – what if someone found a way to combine learning AND compulsively catching them all? With a keyboard?
Well, knock me down with a feather if Ninty havent done just that. Learn With Pokemon: Typing Adventure sounds like a great game for younger players – featuring a bundled-in wireless keyboard and stand, this DS adventure aims to teach youngsters how to type, whilst immersing them in the heady world of battling pocket monsters.
With some brilliantly pun-tastic characters (Professor Quentin Werty, anyone?) and a cast of monster characters from the likes of Pokemon Black & White, gameplay involves carrying out increasingly more difficult typing exercises in order to capture monsters and earn medals – whilst learning about typing and spelling in a creepily subliminal fashion.
I cannot wait to get my hands on this.
Learn With Pokemon: Typing Adventure is released exclusively for Nintendo DS on 21st September 2012
