Blizzard Deliver on April Fools

by on April 1, 2010

Yes my fellow gamers it is April 1st and much of the news, rumours and announcements you have read about today are probably bogus!

Blizzard are always good sports at this time of year, in the previous three years there have been some truly great bogus stories. In 2007 the Tinfoil Hat promised to protect players from the Armoury ensuring player profiles could not be looked up, the item was of course fake. In 2008 we were teased with Warcraft for consoles in the form of Molten Core, the game boasted features such as movement in 8 directions and sound! Last year the P1mp My Mount feature was teased with some members of the community calling for the feature to go beyond the April 1st joke.

Hit the jump to see this years April fools.

e-peen?

This year Blizzard have a great new bogus feature for the World of Warcraft in the form of the Equipment Potency EquivalencE Number or EPEEN (e-peen) for short. It seems Blizzard are taking the piss out of the add-on, Gear Score which gives players scores depending on their gear, the higher the item level of a piece of gear the higher the gear score will be for that item. Gear Score fever has gripped the WoW population in recent months since its release with many groups for dungeons and raids requiring a minimum score from players wishing to join the group.

Battle.net Neural Interface

Its good to see Blizzard are in touch with the WoW community but its not all WoW this year, the new Battle.net interface was launched recently to integrate friends lists across upcoming Blizzard games and it seems the company are playing on that with the Battle.net Neural Interface.

The Interface device promises to change the way gamers will interact with Blizzard games and even comes with an in game pet, at the cheap price of £13,299.00 the device is a steal.
