Darksiders 2 Delayed

Sadly, THQ have announced that Darksiders 2 will not make its original June 26th release date, players can now expect the game to come out this August.

THQ were keen to stress the extra wait will be worth it, with a statement on their blog saying:

“It [the delay] allows additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting”. Speculation that the game has been pushed back to coincide with the launch of the Wii U has also been addressed “It has nothing to do with any other platform releases”.

It was also mentioned that recent layoffs at Vigil Games will not effect Darksiders 2 and that THQ and Vigil are committed to meeting the new release date.

With THQ in deep trouble financially the hype around Darksiders 2 is definitely a positive for them, let’s hope the game slipping back towards the big triple-A winter season won’t effect sales.

Darksiders 2 will now launch on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in August. The game will also be available on Wii U.
