First Look – Gears of War 3 Beast Mode and Horde 2.0

Welcome back to GodisaGeek.com’s First Look and we have something special for you this time, as we have footage of Beast mode and Horde 2.0 for the title you are all aching to play, Gears of War 3 by Epic Games.

The video clip shows off these two modes in spectacular fashion starting with Beast mode. This mode is where you play as the Locust Horde and it is your job to kill any humans in your path, whether it be stranded, COG soldiers or even a few familiar faces. However, to make things more challenging, you only have a minute to kill them all, but in killing one of the humans, you will be granted a few precious extra seconds which could make all the difference. You start off with the basic Locust soldiers (Tickers, Wretches etc.) and as you kill you earn cash and start to unlock more stronger characters.

The next part of the video shows off Horde 2.0 which has been dramatically improved from the previous outing. It’s the Horde mode you all know and love, but this time you can add defenses so you can essentially hold the fort from the frankly intense attacks that you will receive from the Locust AND Lambent forces. But once again, it comes at a cost as these defenses as well as ammo and weapons cost money, making it a kills for cash affair.

The first impressions we have for these modes are that are very good to play and obviously beautiful to look at, but is it an add on just thrown together? You will have to check out the review to find out! But for now, take a look at this footage for yourselves!

Gears of War 3 is available to buy on 20th September and is exclusive to Xbox 360.
