EA Sports Big Gun To Show Face At Develop Event
EA Sports bigwig Andrew Wilson has been announced as a speaker at the forthcoming Develop event in Brighton. More on this story below!
EA SPORTS senior vice president of worldwide development Andrew Wilson will present the opening Evolve keynote at Develop this summer. He is the first of a raft of prestigious keynote speakers to be announced for the 2011 Develop Conference in Brighton, which takes place 19 – 21 July.
Wilson’s keynote presentation ‘Moving the Goalposts – Bringing Social Experiences to all Game Platforms’ will open Evolve on Tuesday 19 July. His address will explore the opportunities that video game makers have to attack the digital transformation of the entertainment industry head on, as well as looking at the core mechanics of what makes all videogames social.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Develop Conference,” Wilson said. “As consumption behaviours, consumer demands and business models rapidly evolve in our industry, we have an opportunity to reset expectations on how we make all games social, regardless of the platform. This event will be a terrific platform to have these kinds of discussions about the future of the videogame industry.”
In its third year, the increasingly popular Evolve conference is a one-day, three-track programme focusing on new platforms, new technologies and new markets.
“The bar has been set high once again for Evolve thanks to confirmation of Andrew Wilson’s keynote,” commented Andy Lane, managing director of organiser Tandem Events. “It’s a great reflection on the influence, importance and inclusive nature of the Develop Conference that all games companies – from giants like EA, to indies and one man bands – both see the benefits and feel at home in Brighton.”
