Swarm Released Today
Credit to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network; both services continue to be hives of creativity and originality. The latest in a long line of imaginative titles is Hothead Games’ newest creation, Swarm, which is released today on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
Following the critically acclaimed DeathSpank and the Penny Arcade Adventures, Swarm has the unique feature of mass character control. Players move all the Swarmites at once, trying to avoid environmental traps and pitfalls with the aim of getting at least one of the blobby blue weirdos to the end of the level. Swarm will contain a wide variety of puzzles and the opportunity to compete with friends to get the highest score.
Expect the game to have a good sense of humour, because Hothead Games are certainly keen on having a laugh. Producer of Swarm, Joel DeYoung, describes the final tuning of the game by saying “the gas canisters are full, the electricity is charged, every bomb is armed, and the acid is suitably corrosive. We are now putting the Swarmites into the capable hands of players.”
Swarm costs £9.99 on PlayStation Network or 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade. Keep an eye on God is a Geek, we should have a review of Swarm up soon.
