Persona 3 PSP Finally Coming To Europe

At long last the wait is over for RPG fans in Britain – that is if you haven’t already imported the title. Ghostlight Games is the UK publisher for the long-awaited PSP conversion of the popular 2006 turn-base J-RPG, Persona 3. Developers Atlus had alreay published Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable in Japan back in 2009 and the United States last year, so it has been a long time coming to arrive on the shores of Britain.

The game follows the adventures of a group of school students in Japan who discover they possess unusual powers whereby they can summon an alternate Persona to fight on their behalf. As an evil Apathy Syndrome begins to affect the world, the group vow they must get to the root of the problem and fight for their very existence. Players have to balance this fighting with everyday school work and building up friendships with other characters – even girlfriends.

The PSP edition adds a second quest, whereby players can choose to play as a female hero – rather than the traditional male one. This opens up a whole new range of interactions and sub-stories to explore, as well as some new personas. And now, exclusive to the UK Special Edition, gamers will also get the following goodies:

Special reversible Collector’s Edition Inlay.

Also, when buyers decide to pre-order the title from the official Persona 3 website, they will also be sent a limited and exclusive T-Shirt. So, one of the most successful RPG titles in recent memory is finally coming to the PSP. But almost five years on – does it still stand up well? The PlayStation 2 version is still one of the top J-RPG/life management games available, so we have high hopes for this conversion.
