Need For Speed: Heat Announced For November Release
It’s been a minute since the last Need For Speed. In fact, by the time the newest game arrives, it will have been two years. Yes, that’s right, EA has finally revealed the latest game in its flagship racing series, Need For Speed: Heat. It’s also coming this year, which might surprise you. November 8th, to be precise.
Set in the new, open world of Palm City, Need For Speed: Heat is said to be “the ultimate street racer versus cop fantasy.” During the day, racers will compete in sanctioned Speedhunters Showdown competition events, earning money to upgrade and customise their rides. Things will be a bit different when it gets dark however, when a rogue police task force will be aiming to take down those participating in underground races.
“We’re delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known,” said Riley Cooper, Creative Director at Ghost Games. “Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customisation, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect.
From your character’s style to your car’s performance and your driving style, we’re fuelling everyone’s creativity with this new game.”
Pre-ordering the standard edition will earn you a K.S. Edition styled Mitsubishi Evolution X. Pre-orders of the deluxe edition will get three K.S. Edition styled cars: the BMW i8 Coupe, Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe and the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. Deluxe edition owners will also get exclusive in-game clothing and increased earnings of Bank and Rep, the currencies in this new game.
Need For Speed: Heat launches on November 8th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (sorry, Switch owners) and EA/Origin Access players can play for up to 10 hours from November 5th. You can also check out the gameplay reveal on August 19th.
