NVIDIA Releases New GeForce GTX 1660 GPU

by on March 14, 2019

NVIDIA has released another new GPU in its extensive range of graphics hardware, available today. Joining the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, the new GeForce GTX 1660 is based on 12th generation Turing GPU architecture and will retail at prices starting at £199.

Coming in at around 30% faster than the GTX 1060 3GB (the card I currently use) and 15% faster than the GTX 1060 6GB, at 1080p resolution.

NVIDIA pitches the 1660 series as an “ideal upgrade,” saying that more than two thirds of today’s gamers are still using GPUs that are the equivalent to (or lower than) 2014’s GTX 960, with the new 1660 delivering, “on average, a 110% increase on the GTX 960.”

With providers such as ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI offering their versions of the GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 is available now, with prices starting at £199.
