Skysaga: Infinite Isles developer Radiant Worlds has been acquired by independant UK games studio Rebellion Developments.
This acquisition caps off a particularly good twelve months for Rebellion who celebrated their twenty-fifth birthday just last week and also saw them self publish Sniper Elite 4 and the HD remaster of 2000 AD’s Rogue Trooper. Radiant Worlds will be rebranded as Rebellion Warwick and will find their team of 70 staff transitioned to handle current projects like Strange Brigade.
Now follows soundbytes of positivity from people behind the acquisition, first up is Rebellion’s Jason Kingsley:
To bring such great people to the company, just after our 25th birthday, is quite remarkable. It’s been a great year for us and we have a lot of plans to help make 2018, 2019 and beyond bigger and even greater years for Rebellion.
Then former Radiant Worlds co-founder Philip Oliver:
We’ve known the Kingsleys for many years and have always had enormous respect for them and the company they’ve built. We know that our core values of creativity, passion, and ambition are mirrored by Rebellion, and we’re excited to be part of their amazing team.
And finally the outgoing CEO of Radiant Worlds Richard Smithies
We’ve managed to build one of the financially strongest and most talented development studios in the UK. I wish everyone now working with Rebellion every success for the future.
It’s always good news to hear of UK based studios doing well, and it’s good to see Rebellion going from strength to strength.
