Blizzard are reportedly working on a way to allow players to save and export videos of their personal highlights and achievements on their multiplayer online shooter, Overwatch.
“Our hope (and what we’re working toward) is to allow players to save highlights or export them to a video format someday,” wrote game director Jeff Kaplan on the official Overwatch forums.
After each match, Overwatch automatically saves five video highlights but there is no way for them to be exported without using third-party video software. Both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have dedicated capturing and sharing options, but PC users are more limited — having to use software such as ShadowPlay to export clips elsewhere.
Kaplan says that he’d like to see players being able to save their video highlights for future usage, perhaps in montages or by being shared to various social media platforms: the likes of Twitter supports short videos in tweets, so they pairing could work well together.
No ETA on this feature, but its on the way according to Blizzard.
