Wrestling legend Goldberg is WWE 2K17’s pre-order bonus

2K has announced that WCW and WWE legend Bill Goldberg will be WWE 2K17’s pre-order bonus. If you pre-order the game through certain retailers, you’ll be able to play two variations of Goldberg at launch from when he was in WCW and WWE. There will also be two arenas available with pre-orders: WCW Nitro and Halloween Havoc.

“After 12 years away from the business, I’m incredibly honoured to work with WWE and 2K while following in the footsteps of such greats as Ultimate Warrior, Sting and Arnold Schwarzenegger,” said Goldberg. “My son was a big part of this coming together, and I can’t wait for him to see his dad kicking ass in a WWE ring through the magic of video games.”

It’s quite an interesting move on WWE’s part, as Goldberg was a fan favourite in both companies, seeing a record 173 straight wins in his WCW days between 1997 and 1998. As you’ll see in the trailer, there’s a reflection on a street sign that reads ‘Suplex City’, a phrase synonymous with one of Goldberg’s biggest WWE rivals Brock Lesnar. WWE 2K17 is expected to release in October 2016 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
