Konami have reported that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has reached six million lifetime sales, as well as that they’ve seen their profits rise over the last reporting period.
GameSpot reported that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has seen “continued favorable sales” since it’s release in September last year. Konami’s video game division posted revenue of ¥93.4 billion ($771.8 million) for the last reporting period as well as a profit of ¥25.5 billion ($210.8 million). This is compared to revenue of ¥67.9 billion ($561.2 million) and a profit of ¥10.7 billion ($88.5 million) during the same period last year, representing increases of 37.5 percent and 138.7 percent respectively.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain released to critical acclaim, with Mikey giving it a perfect 10/10 in his review. It is the final entry in the series from the series creator, Hideo Kojima, who departed Konami at the end of last year.
