Star Wars Battlefront Screens and Info Drop
Several new screenshots for Star Wars Battlefront have hit the internet ahead of tonight’s big reveal at Star Wars Celebration. The screens – which look fantastic – are accompanied by an Associated Press report, which spills some details on the game.
Set during the events of the original trilogy, up to 40 players will duke it out as either the Rebel Alliance or the Empire, with Hoth, Tatooine and lava planet Sullust mentioned by name. A variety of vehicles, both land and in air will be available, although whether space battle return is not mentioned. They won’t be a campaign mode, but there will be ‘crafted missions’ that can be played solo, in local splitscreen and online.
As in Battlefront II, heroes return, with you able to talk the roles of famous characters from the films, including Darth Vader and Boba Fett.
Two weeks before the new film, The Force Awakens, hits cinemas, there will be a free DLC pack which will bring the planet Jakku, which is “the battle-scarred desert planet glimpsed in “Force Awakens” teasers. It explores the immediate aftermath of Return of the Jedi, “when the New Republic confronted Imperial holdouts on the previously unseen Outer Rim enclave.”
Battlefront will launch November 17 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
