Nintendo have announced that they will not be rolling out their Wii U television streaming service TVii in Europe, which combines several different streaming mediums as well as your existing television channels into one convenient Wii U channel.
The company cited “the extremely complex nature of localising multiple television services across a diverse range of countries with varied licensing systems” as their reason for halting expansion of the service, but were quick to remind Wii U owners of the launch of the new Nintendo Anime Channel – a new video-on-demand service which lets users stream anime series like Pokémon, Kirby and Inazuma Eleven.
Fans of Nintendo weren’t surprised by the news, and expressed disappointment on Twitter:
Nintendo TVii in Europe is cancelled. Setting my Wii U on fire.

Whether or not TVii is a worthwhile feature doesn't matter; they lead us along for over 2 YEARS. Why did it take them this long to tell us??

So, Nintendo TVii has finally been officially canned for Europe? Oh well…it's not like any of us actually expecting it now anyway.
