The creators of point and click adventure classic Maniac Mansion want to create a sort-of sequel, but they will need your help if they are to make their dream a reality. What do they need? Money, of course. $375,000 to be precise.
The new “old” game will center around a murder investigation just outside the cutely named Thimbleweed Park.
Thimbleweed Park – May 14, 1987 – Just after midnight, police discovered a body floating in the river outside of Thimbleweed Park – a development Police Chief Whitmire has called “perplexing,” “mystifying,” and “a real head-scratcher.” Police at the scene were observed scratching their heads.
Maniac Mansion creators Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick are back to work on the “spiritual successor” to the 1987 commodore classic. Interested? Check out the little teaser below, and, I dunno, get involved, if you want.
