Extra Content Was Added To Watch Dogs During Delay

by on March 17, 2014

Watch Dogs suffered a pretty hefty delay, when it slipped from its original launch window in November last year. The title finally has a confirmed release date for May this year, but gamers certainly haven’t been happy with the extended wait for the game to hit retail.

However, VG247 spoke to Ubisoft recently regarding a change in the Australian age rating for the game, that suggests there has been a change in some of the content of the game. Whatever had been changed caused the game to go from a rating of MA15+ to that of R18+ in Australia, and Ubisoft provided the following response:

“As per Australian classification guidelines, Ubisoft resubmitted the updated version with the added content to the Australian Classification Board (ACB). The decision to amend the rating of the game from MA15+ to R18+ was made by the ACB.”

The new content appears to concern sex trafficking, and shows that as well as the delay being used to work on improving the overall gameplay of the title (as was previously announced), the time has also been used to squeeze a little more content in. And that certainly can’t be a bad thing.
