Yakuza 5 title revealed and website launched
SEGA has today launched the website for the new game in the Yakuza series, and it has been given an official name – “Ryu Ga Gotoku: Of The End” (Ryu Ga Gotoku being the Japanese title for the Yakuza series). Previously we had reported that the game will take place in an area of Tokyo which appears to have been destroyed. Apparently in the game a major earthquake has affected the area. It is still unclear whether “the end” is referring to the series as a whole, or the end of something else.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that Goro Majima, Shun Akiyama, Kiryu Kazuma, and Ryuji Goda will be the four playable characters. See below for images of the four characters involved. Kazuma and Shun have both been playable in the past. Goro and Ryuji are returning from previous entries – but are playable for the first time.
The end of...?
More information regarding the game will be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show. The previous game in the series – Yakuza 4 – is due to be released across Europe and America in Spring 2011.
