Streaming gameplay directly from your games console, direct to the whole world, is a fantastic idea which gamers could have hardly even imagined being possible a decade ago. But streaming has now become so easy with new consoles and App such as the PlayStation 4 App The Playroom, that users have found all sorts of uses for it – not all of them being entirely savoury.
Video Game streaming company Twitch have gone as far as to entirely remove all streams from their directory that have been made using The Playroom App – due to what they say are too many non-gaming streams. This won’t be permanent however, and Twitch issued a statement where they indicated that The Playroom would most likely return in the future, once “PS4 owners become more familiar with the games-only focus of Twitch content”.
Some of these Twitch non-gaming streams had become quite popular, so it is a shame that even the non-risque streams have been removed from Twitch, but non-gaming streams are not allowed on the channel in any form. We will probably soon see these streams popping up elsewhere though, now that they have lost their original Twitch outlet.
