The day one update for the PS4 is now available to download. The update can be downloaded on the US PlayStation website and can be saved onto a USB storage device which in turn can be inserted into the PS4.
Downloading the update onto a USB device will prevent the need to download the update on launch day when the servers will inevitably be overloaded. The process is as simple a creating two folders on the USB storage, one titled PS4 and the other UPDATE and saving the files in the right place. A full guide on how to complete the process can be seen here.
The update is approximately 300mb in size and includes many of the PS4’s core features such as Remote Play, Party Chat and the ability to use Blu Ray’s and DVD’s.
