Let’s be honest, why would you want to release anything this week? Rayman Legends is finally hitting shelves, both physical and digital, and it’s a platforming beaut, as explained in our review. With this in mind it’s unsurprising that this week is a little light on new offerings when it comes to Nintendo downloads.
Not to say there isn’t anything else. Retro fans are catered for with a spot of Zelda and some Ninja Gaiden, while troubled parents might find themselves badgered into purchasing new Disney tie-in Planes for their youngsters.
There are other things coming out then, as you can see below, but you’re probably best off grabbing Rayman…
- Rayman Legends (Wii U Download) – £36.99
The Glade of Dreams is in trouble once again! During a 100-year nap, the nightmares multiplied and spread, creating new monsters even more terrifying than before! These creatures are the stuff of legend… Dragons, giant toads, sea monsters, and even evil luchadores. With the help of Murfy, Rayman and Globox awake and must now help fight these nightmares and save the Teensies!
- Disney Planes (Wii U Doanload) – £34.99 (3DS Download) – £24.99
Get over your fear of heights and take to the skies for a daring mid-air adventure that will test your pilot skills and your sense of humour. After a few flight lessons with Skipper, throttle forward over the world of Cars, just like Disney’s hit movie Planes. Fly solo or fly with a wingman to complete flight objectives or challenge each other to an Air Rally race or a Balloon Pop challenge. And if you want to stretch your wings, get airborne with a leisurely Free Flight. Just don’t look down! - The Legend of Zelda (Wii U Virtual Console) – £3.49
The epic series, The Legend of Zeldaâ„¢ began here, with the heroic Link on a hazardous journey through the fantastic world of Hyrule. Using your sword, your shield and your wits, retrieve the eight fragments of the Triforce and save Princess Zelda. This ground-breaking game introduced innovative ideas that are still present in Zelda games more than 25 years later. Not only is Link’s original adventure action-packed, it also features puzzling dungeons to explore and a myriad of secrets to discover. This is the US version of the game. - Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (3DS Virtual Console) – £4.49
In this sequel to the original NESâ„¢ Ninja Gaiden®, return to the role of Ryu Hayabusa and embark on a mission to vanquish a deadly new enemy, Ashtar, and destroy the Sword of Chaos. Use speed, agility and Ninjutsu fighting techniques to progress through multiple stages, battling enemies and defeating bosses. Increase Ryu’s powers and recover strength by finding items along the way. Ryu can now also create copies of himself that constantly follow him, repeating his moves. - My Western Horse 3D (3DS Download) – £34.99
Become the star of the ranch! Put on your cowboy hat, don your chaps and grab your lasso, it’s time to impress with your barrel racing and reining skills. Caring for your horse and training hard will get you far. And if Aunt Polly recognises your talent, new doors will open for you! Can you hear the neighing from the stall? Your Western Horse is waiting for you! - Treasure Hunter X (3DS Download) – £1.79 (DSi Download) – 200 Points
Many untouched caverns still exist in the world, waiting for the one brave enough to explore them. Within them lie vast troves of treasure and rare artifacts. Become Tyrol the treasure hunter, collect treasures and escape from the caverns. Be warned though, there are creatures lurking in the depths of the caverns and the element of nature is against you. Use your pickaxe wisely so you do not get yourself trapped and lost forever within the darkness of the caverns. Can Tyrol collect enough treasure in order to win the heart of the woman he loves?
That’s it. That’s your lot. No discounts this week, just new stuff. So, are you interested in anything? I don’t think I need to remind you about Rayman again, do I?
