After all the backlash from SimCity’s always-online drama, it’s no surprise that The Sims 4 producer Grant Rodiek told VG247 that Maxis’ newest Sim title will be, “an offline, client-based game”.
Currently, the game is only scheduled to be released on PC and Mac, with a console release not currently in the developer’s plans.
Even with next-generation firmly on everyone’s thoughts throughout 2013, SimCity remains one of the biggest stories of the year.
From the horrendous launch, to the multiple disasters after it, that was one that EA and Maxis want to put behind them. So, if you’re excited for The Sims 4, gain some solace from the fact that you won’t have to connect to the internet in order to play.
