In May of this year, we finally found out what the confirmed release date would be for the latest title in the long-running Total War series from the Creative Assembly – Total War: Rome II. Come September 3rd, budding warlords everywhere will be able to recreate the battles of Ancient Rome, in the comfort of their own home.
To help show fans how the game looks, and the impressive new environments that you will be able to battle across, the developers have released a new panoramic screenshot that depicts the lands of the Barbarian hordes.
Front and centre stands a Warmaiden of the Celtic tribe of the Helvetii. A Champion agent type, she’s capable of a whole raft of activities, including hampering an enemy army’s ability to fight, reducing its morale, and even inciting slave uprisings in opposing cities.
The final game will feature over one hundred and eighty different map regions to wage war across, and over one hundred warring factions. This really is shaping up to be the biggest Total War game released to date.
