EA Sports has secured a licensing deal which will see 19 Brazilian football clubs in FIFA 14.
Atlético Mineiro, Atlético Paranaense, Botafogo, Coritiba, Criciúma, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Fluminense, Goiás, Grêmio, Internacional, Náutico, Palmeiras, Ponte Preta, Portuguesa, Santos, São Paulo, Vasco da Gama, and Vitória have all signed deals to officially appear in the game. Real players, crests and kits will be on show for all of the aforementioned teams, in the next FIFA game.
FIFA’s executive producer David Rutter spoke on the matter, exclaiming that fans of Brazilian ball play will be delighted with the news:
“We’re very excited to bring the stars of the top Brazilian clubs into our games. For all our fans that support and love Brazilian football, this will only add to the authentic FIFA experience they enjoy, and the additional clubs will bring undiscovered players from Brazil into the FIFA Ultimate Team universe.”
More licenses are expected to be announced in the coming months. FIFA 14 will be available on [insert platform name here and it’ll be on it] on September 24 in North America and September 27 for the more rabid European fans.
One of the more interesting notes is that Pro Evo have decided against the jump to next-gen, whilst FIFA 14 will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Do you think FIFA will have a headstart over Konami’s Winning Eleven at the eighth generation’s offing, or will the 2015 versions be the year we can truly judge that?
