Blizzard To Offer Free and Paid Name Change For StarCraft II
Blizzard have today announced that StarCraft II players will soon be given the opportunity to change their in-game name. The first name change will be free, with additional name changes coming at an unannounced price. It would seem that quite a few StarCraft II players would like to make use of a name change service after finding out that their in-game name would be used across multiple StarCraft II platforms which include multi-player games, ladders, and forums.
Blizzard explained the reasoning behind the upcoming name change feature on their StarCraft II blog:
In some cases, people chose character names that don’t represent their usual multi-player nicknames, as they were unaware of how the character names were being used. It’s important to us that everyone is represented by a name of their choosing in their multi-player games, ladders, and on the forums and community site.
