Metal Gear Solid Remake Isn’t Happening
Calm down, reports of a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid are all just a big misunderstanding.
Brought to our attention by CVG, Hideo Kojima took to Twitter and clarified that the Metal Gear creator didn’t say he was looking for a team to develop a remake using the Fox engine:
Regarding the rumor from yesterday, checked the data recording of the actual interview. It was mistranslated from our side.

I answered "You (the journalist) wanted me to do MGS2 on Fox Engine but I cannot do. I wish if only someone could make MGS1 on Fox Engine."

The journalist wasn't wrong. We are deeply sorry for the misinterpretation on our side.

Kojima went on to say that even though he isn’t actively looking into releasing a shinier version of the 1998 classic right now, he did imply that he’d be open to speaking with a studio on the prospect.
Wires were crossed. You can go about your day, now.
