Nintendo Announce Super Mario 3D World for Wii U

Super Mario 3D World will be released on Wii U this year and feature elements derived from the entire Mario line.

As the name suggests it is a sequel in style to the 3DS’ Super Mario 3D Land, however it introduces four player modes and Super Mario World enemies to that formula.

Unlike the New Super Mario series the four characters are unique – Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad – and all four will carry the unique gameplay traits that featured in the USA Super Mario Bros 2.

The Mario World influence is felt most prominently in the enemies right now, with the likes of Yoshi yet to be confirmed. New elements include a cat suit that allows Mario to scramble up walls (and the end of level flagpole).
