First Look: Defiance (Xbox 360 Version)

by on April 8, 2013

Released last week, there’s not been a huge amount written about Defiance so far.

Our review is in progress, but being an MMO it might take a little longer, so in the mean time, I played through the opening 40 minutes of the Xbox 360 version, to see what the fuss was all about.

I think what you’ll (hopefully) see from this video is that there’s a decent game here, upon first impressions – but it’s not all that great looking. On that note, the PC version does look a lot better, and it’s worth remembering that this is an MMO, so when you first pop the disc in, be prepared for a mandatory 5GB install, and some patches to download and install.

Character creation seems okay, and I do like the skills and weapons that you can get, so far. Anyway, enough of me talking, take a look at the video and tell us what you think. People are definitely interested, it seems, as it entered in third place in this week’s UK Charts.

If you’re not interested in cut-scenes or character creation, skip straight to the 10 minute mark for the gameplay. Enjoy!

Defiance is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
