Star Wars: The Old Republic may well have gone free to play now, but that isn’t going to stop any updates and expansions from being released and adding to the experience. In fact, the first digital expansion for the game will be released in Spring 2013.
The MMORPG set in the Star Wars universe – produced by Mass Effect and Dragon Age developers Bioware – hasn’t been the runaway success that it was hoped, yet the game still has a large installed userbase who will lap up this extra content. Those who are full paying subscribers will be able to pick up the update for a cheaper price of $9.99, whereas those who joined in since the game has gone free to play will have to fork out a slightly higher price of $19.99.
The DLC pack will include additions such as:
INCREASED LEVEL CAP
Continue your Star Wars saga with a new level cap of 55! Earn new abilities, skill points, gear, and more as your character advances!
EXTEND YOURÂ STAR WARSÂ SAGA
Experience new epic story content with fully-voiced cinematic conversations as players uncover the diabolical plot of the Hutt Cartel to become the new galactic superpower.
NEW PLANET: MAKEB
Explore a vibrant alien landscape as the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire fight for control over a powerful secret.
Do these changes sound excitingto you? Well there won’t be much longer to wait to experience the Hutt Cartel add-on, but there is still no confirmed release date for the pack. For now though, you tide yourself over and watch the new trailer for the DLC below:
