Walkthrough
Find Eel
As soon as you have control, head right to where the bookcase moved back in The Entrance Exam escape room. There will be a different door there this time, with a different puzzle to solve.
There is a picture with the instruction:
“FILL TO LINE”
You can then see that there is an image of three bottles of liquid. The one on the left is five units big and is full. The one on the right is three units big and is full. The bottle in the centre is 8 units large, empty, and has a line at four units. As such to solve this puzzle you need to:
Fill the central bottle up to four units.
To do this you can move water from any bottle to another. But bear in mind that:
You will transfer all the liquid in a bottle if you can
If there is too much liquid to transfer, the target bottle will be full and the remainder will be left in the first bottle.
Using these two principles you need to ensure that the central bottle has only four units in. This is a fairly standard puzzle, so most people will likely know the order of commands to get there, however, if you are stuck, here is the solution from the starting point described above (note you can get back to here at any point using the Reset button):
Pour Right container into Middle (result: 5, 3, 0)
Pour Left container into Right (result: 2, 3, 3)
Pour Right container into Middle (result: 2, 6, 0)
Pour Left container into Right (result: 0, 6, 2)
Pour Middle container into Left (result: 5, 1, 2)
Pour Left container into Right (result: 4, 1, 3)
Pour Right container into Middle (result 4, 4, 0)
Now you can enter the room beyond. Eel will be sitting in a chair ahead of you. As you approach, a small cut-scene will kick in and you realise that Eel was in fact a robot all this time.
Unplug the Robot
The next thing to do is (sadly) unplug Eel. Look on the floor and follow the cable to wall socket. Interact with the plug and unplug him.
This will loosen his hand grips, and if you return to Eel you can interact with his hand to find the Strange Keycard.
Now if you turn around and head to the fireplace, you’ll notice a small device to the left. Use the Strange Keycard on this terminal, and you’ll reveal a hidden lift behind the fireplace. This marks the end of this short escape room.
