Nintendo announces Mario Kart Tour is now available on mobile devices

Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour is the first Mario Kart game to launch on smartphones and is available now to download on iOS and Android devices.

Mario Kart Tour is a “free-to-start title that brings the racing fun of Mario Kart to your mobile devices, allowing players to collect a variety of drivers, karts and gliders. There are in game high-scores, rewards and rankings where players can compare themselves on a weekly basis with other players around the world.

The title features many classic tracks and items with familiar characters making appearances.

There will be special in-game event courses called City Courses which are inspired by real-world locations available during specific time periods, and will take place every two weeks. The first of these is inspired by New York and is in progress until 07:59 CEST on 9 October.

Playing Mario Kart Tour requires a Nintendo Account, compatible smartphone and a persistent online connection. You can find out more at the official site.
