Today, publisher Walkabout and developer Different Tales have announced a brand new game called Wanderlust: Travel Stories. The game is a narrative based interactive travelogue inspired by real world travel stories, all illustrated by beautiful bespoke photography.
In a small bistro in Hanga Roa, a group of travellers swap stories about their adventures, and you’ll step into their shoes as you walk the very tales that brought them together. You’ll plan the adventures, keep an eye on the money and your own mental health, as well as finding shelter for the night. Every choice will shape your adventure, so choose wisely.
Wanderlust: Travel Stories has been created by Artur Ganszyniec (lead narrative designer on The Witcher) and Jacek Brzeziński (project lead on The Witcher and game designer for Hitman),
“Ten years after I met with Jacek during our work on The Witcher, we decided to team up again to make a different kind of a story, something more grounded in reality and rooted in the common human experience,” said Ganszyniec.
“Wanderlust was born from Jacek’s love for travel and from my love for storytelling. We aimed to create something different. A bridge between literary experiences and gaming. A title that is meant to be taken in, experienced and felt.”
It’ll be released on iOS and Steam on August 28, 2019. You can watch the trailer for Wanderlust: Travel Stories below:
