The 2019 MSI is over, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have a couple of great eSports events coming up in the month of June.
Top sportsbooks will have odds, so let’s look at the two big events in June and see if we can’t track down who’s favored.
CWL Anaheim | June 14th – 17th
In the world of Call of Duty, Anaheim is a fan favorite.
Now we have a chance to look at those in the pro pools, competing for $325,000.00.
Pool A is tough, both OpTic and Team Heretics are expected to make their way into the winner’s bracket. But honestly, this is OpTic’s pool to dominate. Some are calling for Heretics to be the clear second, but I don’t think so. Evil Geniuses should push past the Heretics and take that second position.
Pool A:
- OpTic Gaming
- Team Heretics
- Evil Geniuses
- Denial Esports
In Pool B, we have perhaps the clearest path to victory. eUnited has this one in the bag. They are hot right now, on a 7-0 combined run over the last couple of weeks and they could very well end up playing in the Finals.
Pool B:
- eUnited
- Team Reciprocity
- Elevate
- UYU
Pool C should see FaZe Clan lead the way. They are another team who has quite a bit of momentum at the moment and should be pretty dominant in their pool. Second place will go to Splyce, there is no way Midnight Esports can step up big in Anaheim against these two teams, and it’s doubtful that Enigma6 will either.
Pool C:
- FaZe Clan
- Splyce
- Midnight Esports
- Enigma6 Group
Pool D has been labeled the Pool of Death. But I disagree … there really is no ‘Pool of Death’ in Anaheim. Why? Because 100 Thieves is going to cut through everyone like a steaming hot knife through butter. Gen. G and Luminosity are really closely matched for who will take up that 3rd and 4th position. And Team Envy should take that second spot in the winner’s bracket, though they could have some trouble with Gen.G.
Look for 100 Thieves to absolutely merk this pool and leave everyone else picking at the scraps.
Pool D:
- 100 Thieves
- Gen.G
- Team Envy
- Luminosity
Odds on the Tournament Winner
OpTic Gaming leads the way at +311 (just a bit over 3 to 1) to win it all. They are followed closely by eUnited at +362, then 100 Thieves at +516 (a hair over 5 to 1) with FaZe Clan pulling up 4th at +670 (just under 7 to 1).
So, if we are to believe the betting odds, we should see OpTic Gaming face either eUnited or 100 Thieves in the Finals.
Dreamhack Summer 2019 | June 15th – 17th
The Dream has Summer 2019 will take place in Elmia, Sweden over the same weekend as the CWL Anaheim. The main event will obviously be CS: GO with its $100,000.00 prize pool. But the Pokemon Regionals will be dishing out $50,000.00 in cash scholarships and gift cards. Pus we’ll get to see the FIFA 2019 Nordic Masters, Dreamhack mobile series featuring Brawl Stars and Clash Royal as well as the Fighting Games Championship via Brawlhalla. So there is something for everyone at Dreamhack’s summer extravaganza.
