Gearbox and 2K are launching a new way to view your favourite streamers. In partnership with Twitch they have announced the Borderlands 3 ECHOcast extenstion for Borderlands 3 which will allow viewers to look through streamers’ loadouts, explore the contents of their backpacks, and even poke around their skill trees. There are also special loot chests throughout the game that kickoff opt-in events every time a streamer finds and opens one.
If you do decide to opt in to one of the “Rare Chest Events”, you’ll be in with a chance to win a copy of one of the items from the chest like a gun, shield, grenade mod or whatever the streamer comes across. If you’re lucky enough to win you’ll receive a SHiFT code that can be redeemed for that item though your copy will be scaled to match your in-game level.
The extension will be available from May 1 in time for the Borderlands 3 Worldwide Gameplay Reveal Event where streams will be going live and showing off some Borderlands 3 from 6pm BST. All you’ll need to do is link your SHiFT and Twitch accounts to be in with a chance of winning some loot and getting ahead of the game.

Borderlands 3 is due for release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 13.
