After the success of the episodic Hitman reboot and the mystifying decision by Square-Enix to dump IO Interactive, it was always going to be good news when WB Games came knocking on IO’s door. It seems that star names are just a perk that comes with being a part of the Warner Bros. family, and the first star name in Hitman 2 is the king of on-screen deaths himself: Sean Bean.
Starring as Mark Faba, and this surely has to be the ultimate in sly humour, Sean Bean’s character is a former MI5 agent and known as “The Undying” because he’s a master of faking his own death. That’s parody at its finest, as far as I’m concerned.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the upcoming HITMAN™ 2 video game” said Bean, “It’s always exciting to take on a new role, and I look forward to seeing my character in action when the Elusive Target mission launches.”
You won’t have long to wait for “The Undying” Elusive Target mission either, as it launches on November 20th, just a week after Hitman 2 itself. You can even vote on the inclusion of a new weapon, from a selection seen in the trailer above.
Hitman 2 releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC beginning November 13th.
