As part of EU Code Week Apple will be offering 2,000 free coding sessions at its stores between October 6 and 21.
Open to people of all ages and skill leavels Apple’s sessions will help people with a range of hands on interactive experiences including ‘How to: Get Started with Coding’ and ‘Kids Hour: Sphero Maze Challenge’.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is very passionate about teaching people to code: “Coding is a critical skill that gives people of all ages the chance to create and share their ideas with the world. Apple has long believed coding is the language of the future, and we’ve created a range of tools to make it fun and accessible for everyone. We’re thrilled to offer thousands of sessions in Apple stores for EU Code Week, and can’t wait to share our love for coding with young people and educators across Europe.”
In 2016 Apple launched the ‘Everyone Can Code’ curriculum and it’s this that will form the core of Apple’s Code Week sessions. People will be able to find local sessions by either going to codeweek.eu/events or apple.com/uk/today.
