An introduction to Path of Exile Bestiary League

The Bestiary League was introduced to Path of Exileon March 2, 2018, and it’s opened up a whole new type of challenge for fans of the free-to-play action adventure role-playing game, Path of Exile. The game takes place in the world of Wraeclast – a dark fantasy world, where players must kill a range of evil beings to escape the prison-like hell that you wake up in. The Bestiary League is an extension of this – a range of challenges that require you to capture beasts with nets and store them in the Menagerie, ready to be sacrificed at the Blood Altar. You can also choose to sacrifice a beast and use its parts for beastcrafting, which is a way to make better equipment and weapons.

You are guided by an NPC called Einhar Frey, a master hunter-scavenger who’s kept all of his findings in a giant bestiary, and it’s your job to help him; every beast that you slay goes into the bestiary, and that’s where the Bestiary League and the Hardcore Bestiary come in. The main mechanics of the Leagues are to capture select capturable monsters by casting nets at them. They can be found in Wraeclast, or you can purchase them from Einhar Frey. They have a cool down and a cast time, and once thrown monsters can’t be killed for 3 seconds. Like other games such as Pokémon, the lower the life is, the higher the chance of capturing is. If you fail to capture the beast in your net, it will become enraged, and you’ll have to wait for it to stop to be in with a chance to try again.

Certain beasts have rare drops which come from Rare Beasts, and they can be spawned by using a Bestiary Mod and they’ll appear on the map highlighted yellow. There’re also Legendary Beasts, which are very difficult to beat, but if you manage it, be prepared to gain some rarer items to use for more valuable recipes. You can also beastcraft a portal to the Spirit Lands to capture one of the four Spirit Beasts, and finally take down the almighty Uber Elder – there’s so much to do! If you’re successful, the beast will be taken to the Menagerie by Einhar, and it’ll be there until you decide what to do with it. There’re plenty of optional challenges within the leagues, which gives you a symbol next to your name indicating how many challenges you’ve completed, along with the Bestiary specific microtransactions.

There’s plenty of items to earn, and armour sets to build, and waiting for things to drop can take time. Thankfully Player Auctions gives you a chance to bid on items you need, with reasonable prices too. Whether it’s a specific orb or piece of equipment you need, there’s plenty on offer and it’s available to both PC and Xbox One players. Buyers will receive the items they purchase from players in-game, whether that’s face to face or via mailbox, and payment is protected by the sites PlayerGuardian payment protection scheme. It’s very easy to do, and an incredibly handy tool for newcomers and veterans alike.

If in the very rare case a transaction falls through, and the seller doesn’t deliver, you will get your money back guaranteed. A high number of transactions occur successfully, but with that guarantee you can rest assure your money is in safe hands. The excitement of playing the Path of Exile Bestiary Leagues is made even better with the option to buy the things you need to make that lovely set of armour complete.
