Gfinity’s Elite Series has a new team joining its third season – Hashtag United. They’re a football team, esports organisation and YouTube channel.
In the Elite Series Hashtag United will compete against esports teams like Fnatic, Vitality and Team Envy for a share of a £250,000 prize pool, and it kicks off on March 9 at GFinity’s Esports Arena in London.
Hashtag United were formed as a non-league football team in 2016, and gained a following when they started recording their matches and posting them onto YouTube. Since then they’ve managed to appear in FIFA 18 and Top Eleven, get their own kit manufacturer and build up a successful FIFA esports team. They’re now looking to broaden themselves to include Rocket League and Street Fighter V in competitive esports.
If you’ve got an interest in Hashtag United, or esports in general it might be an idea to get yourself down to the Esports Arena for a bit of this action when it starts up. You can find more information over at the official site.
