Shigeru Miyamoto announced Super Mario Run on stage at Apple’s event in San Francisco.
I still can’t believe Tim Cook introduced Mr Miyamoto on stage at an Apple Event showing off a new Mario game for iPhone and iPad but that’s Super Mario Run. “We have created Super Mario Run to be perfect for playing on your iPhone,” said Shigeru Miyamoto. This game will also be playable with one hand in portrait mode making it more accessible. Check out the trailer below on Nintendo’s mobile focussed YouTube channel:
Tim Cook also had the following to say about Mario: “The App Store has made so many things better in our lives – the way we communicate, the way we work and the way we have fun, But for gamers of all ages, the story just hasn’t been complete without Mario, so we are thrilled that Nintendo is bringing him to iOS for the first time this December.” There will also be a Mario themed sticker pack for use in iMessage on iOS 10. Super Mario Run will be free to download but it will have an additional set purchase price to unlock all the content.
Super Mario Run is scheduled to release in December on iPhone and iPad.
