Survival game Rust has sold over 3.5 million copies, and retains over 500k active users per week it has been announced.
The figures were revealed in an opinion piece for The Guardian regarding the game’s most recent gender and race update by Garry Newman, founder of Facepunch Studios. Rust’s latest update randomises a player’s gender and race, simulating real human creation by offering a 50/50 chance at being either male or female which has apparently made “Russian and transgender players of Rust… unhappy.”
Rust is currently in Early Access on Steam, with updates to the game arriving weekly.
Thanks, NeoGAF.
