It looks like Harmonix’s crowdfunding campaign to bring Rock Band to PC is set to fail far below its target.
The publisher was initially looking for $1.5m, but the total amount of money pledged has only reached $718,997 (correct at the time of writing) with only 17 hours left to go. The campaign will tick over on April 6 at 4AM GMT, so if the company are unable to attract another $750,000+ within 24 hours, it looks like Rock Band for PC isn’t going to happen.
The fig.co crowdfund has managed to attract 1,599 backers––not enough to make the port a reality. Harmonix pledged to use $500k of their own money if the campaign succeeded, taking the real total to around $2m.
Harmonix are still planning to publish Rock Band VR for Oculus Rift later this year, regardless of whether their crowdfunding campaign fails.
