UPDATE: Time Zombies VR, not Resident Evil, coming to Dubai theme park

Update (April 11, 12:27pm): We were contacted by a Capcom representative to confirm that Resident Evil VR: Bio Terror has been misreported by the wider media. The VR title debuting at the Dubai park is actually called Time Zombies, and is not related to Capcom in any way. There will be a Resident Evil themed ride and attraction in the park, but it won’t be virtual reality related. Here’s their statement:

“Meraas, based in Dubai, announced last week that it would join forces with several game publishers to create rides and attractions at its gaming theme park – Hub Zero. Resident Evil and Asura’s Wrath will be two of the iconic brands present at Hub Zero when it opens later this year. The wireless VR experience Meraas announced at the same time, Time Zombies, is not related to Capcom IP.”

Original Story: At a recent film and comic convention in Dubai, UAE, it was announced that a local theme park will premiere Resident Evil’s first VR title.

The VR experience, titled Resident Evil: Bio Terror, will be exclusive to Hub Zero, an entertainment park in Dubai that has secured agreements with various publishers to add exclusive virtual reality experiences to the park’s line-up. Rely On Horror reports that Resident Evil: Bio Terror “will play in a style closer to House of the Dead than the Chronicles games” and will feature a selection of the mutated creatures featured in previous titles.

More info as it becomes available, and no word whether this will see wider release.
