New Gears of War 4 multiplayer trailer arrives ahead of open beta

Xbox and The Coalition have released a new trailer showing off the multiplayer aspect of Gears of War 4 ahead of the open beta next week.

The trailer shows off “an incredible range of new weapons such as the Buzzkill and Dropshot, which can shoot around and over cover; new abilities like yank and vault kick, part of the new close-cover combat system; and brutal new executions, all running at 60 fps.” The currently closed beta will open up to all Xbox Live Gold members on Monday, April 25.

The “Gears” eSports ESL Pro League Season 2 Grand Finals takes place tomorrow at PAX East. Denial, DreamTeam, EnVyUs, and Notorious will battle it out for $60,000 in front of a live crowd at the gaming convention in Boston. The stream will also showcase Gears of War 4’s new game mode Escalation. It all kicks off at 4PM BST on www.twitch.tv/GearsofWar. Also being streamed is a live panel with The Coalition, called Out of the Shadows: Inside Gears of War Multiplayer which takes place on Sunday, April 24 at 6.30PM BST. It will also be streaming via the offical Gears of War Twitch.
