In a recent interview with VideoGamer, the producer of the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has said the project is “progressing” and Capcom is “working hard on the game at the moment.”
Yoshiaki Hirabayashi’s first game at Capcom was the Game Cube remake of the original Resident Evil, with Resident Evil 2 being the first RE title he played. “Everyone’s experience is different but I remember how it felt to play it for the first time, and the task of bringing that to the fans all over again is a cause of daily headaches for me (laughs),” said Hirabayashi. “Work is progressing on the game and all I can do is ask the fans to wait patiently and excited.”
It is also worth noting Resident Evil 6’s feedback has helped to shape the remake, and Hirabayahi-san has been listening to it carefully. “Every title brings with it learning experiences, and of course I saw a lot of the feedback on Resident Evil 6 and have taken on board everything I’ve heard from the fans about the game.”
There is currently no news on when the Resident Evil 2 remake will be released.
