Capybara Games released a brand new trailer for their survival-focused procedurally generated dungeon crawler Below at the Independent Game Awards last night.
The trailer, titled ‘Death’s Door’, shows off some new in-game footage — up until now, the game was (and sort of still is) a complete enigma. Below was originally announced back at E3 2013 during Microsoft’s press conference, where Phil Spencer referred to it as a “creative take on roguelike gameplay” where players assume the role of a “tiny warrior exploring the depths of a remote island”. The game will be console exclusive to Xbox One, and will be available on Windows.
Capybara is known as the studio behind indie mega-hits like Super Time Force and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. Below adopts a tilt-shift perspective, belittling the character and making the world around them appear enormous.
Below is set to launch this summer on Xbox One and Windows.
