Risk of Rain coming to PS4 and PS Vita
Hopoo Games have announced that their roguelike platformer Risk of Rain is making the jump to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita sometime this year.
The console version is the result of a partnership between Hopoo Games and Code Mystics, and will come with a variety of exclusive features, detailed in the announcement made on the PlayStation Blog. “Thanks to PlayStation Network, we now have automatic matchmaking integrated into Risk of Rain!” wrote Duncan Drummond, co-founder of Hoopo Games. “With just one press of a button you’ll be automatically placed into a lobby with up to three other players around the world – no IP address or port forwarding required, just online fun.”
Risk of Rain will also include cross-play between PS4 and Vita, with the ability to swap between local and online co-op. “Now you can play on the couch, and on the internet – all at once! While we still have the four-player local co-op available in Risk of Rain, you can now play online lobbies while sharing a machine with your friend – up to two per machine,” said Drummond.
No release date has been announced just yet. Risk of Rain was released on PC in 2013. See the console trailer above.
