Bethesda have announced that they will be bringing mod support to both PC and console iterations of their open-world RPG, Fallout 4.
The game’s director, Todd Howard, told GameInformer that players can expect to see mod support rolled out onto PC in April, between the release of the first two DLC packs: Automatron and Wasteland Workshop.“We want to get it up on PC and have it work,” Howard said. “It’ll go up at that time on PC. In April. All of that stuff will go up on PC.”
He then predicated it will be coming to Xbox One around May, and then finally rolling out to PS4 in June. “It’ll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4,” he added.
Howard also discussed Survival Mode, a new game mode which will roll out some time this year. It will receive a Steam beta in order to gauge community response, before release. “We’re doing things like you can’t save, it only saves your game when you sleep,” Howard said. “You can’t fast travel. There’re all of these diseases. We’re trying it all. It’s a different experience. We’re not trying to make it a ton harder. It’s harder because you’re doing more things. We want the combat to feel different, as opposed to just being a bullet sponge.
Fallout 4 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
