The first day of the UK Halo World Championships has come to a close and unsurprisingly the big names have made it through to day two.
The major sponsored organisations of Epsilon, Team Dignitas and Infused all managed to win their opening games 2-0 to secure them a pass to Saturday’s games. Elsewhere Excel, Riot, Rift, Viperio and Exertus also managed to win their opening group games 2-0 to make it through to tomorrow. The last two games of the day were elimination matches that saw both Ground Pound and Potent drop out of the competition after losing 2-0.
Unfortunately for the viewers this meant that every game of the day finished in a 2-0 sweep and the event finished a lot earlier than planned. Fortunately the games taking place for the rest of the weekend should be a lot closer.
Held at the Gfinity Arena in London the UK Halo World Championships is a qualifying event for the European Finals, which in turn is a qualifying event for the World Finals where the majority of the $2million plus prize pool will be on offer. That being said the $10,000 prize pool for this event is nothing to turn your nose up at. You will be able to see all of the action from Saturday and Sunday in the stream below.
